John Arthur Bulla was a life long member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church where he served as treasurer, secretary, Deacon and Elder. John married his wife Hyacinth in 1942 just 2 weeks before he went off to War serving in the Army 4 years during WWII. On his return home he worked in the Textile and hosiery mills as a machinist before working for and retiring from Western Electric. John was a founding member of the Buckhorn Shooting club. He was an expert rifleman and enjoyed shooting trap & skeet. He also was an amateur ham radio operator and enjoyed working on radios, listening to bluegrass music and repairing & making parts for guns and clocks. John was Jake King's older brother and they spent a lot of time in his shop making parts and working on guns . Jake King was the mechanic for the Sox & Martin drag racing team for years. Don't you know there were some good stories told in this shop!

John Arthur Bulla was a life long member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church where he served as treasurer, secretary, Deacon and Elder. John married his wife Hyacinth in 1942 just 2 weeks before he went off to War serving in the Army 4 years during WWII. On his return home he worked in the Textile and hosiery mills as a machinist before working for and retiring from Western Electric. John was a founding member of the Buckhorn Shooting club. He was an expert rifleman and enjoyed shooting trap & skeet. He also was an amateur ham radio operator and enjoyed working on radios, listening to bluegrass music and repairing & making parts for guns and clocks. John was Jake King's older brother and they spent a lot of time in his shop making parts and working on guns . Jake King was the mechanic for the Sox & Martin drag racing team for years. Don't you know there were some good stories told in this shop!
