8:00AM Monday October 9 end time Monday October 15 6:00PM. 1957 Bel Air 2 door black frame off restoration: Elite Rods and Restorations of Bloomington, IL. invested more than 1500 hours building this 1957 Chevrolet 210, giving it a frame-off rotisserie restoration and spending rouhly $46,000 in parts alone. Powered by a 350/320 HP V-8 GM crate engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with hydraulic throwout bearing, the engine is very well dressed with a huge amount of chrome, stainless and polished-aluminum components, including the radiator and Edelbrock intake manifold. The highly detailed engine bay is as well addressed as the rest of this 57. Riding on a new suspension with rack-and pioion steering and tubular A-arms, the chassis is further improved with power front disc brakes. This 57 is presented in all black with correct brightwork in place and new bumpers, side windowa and frames bringing this car up to another level. Passengers will enjoy the revised interior with custom dashboard trim, power windows, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air and custom upholstery. A special under-dash unit houses the stereo head unit, controls and vents. American Racing wheels are wrapped with lower-profile blackwall tires, adding a degree of performance to the dark aura of this Chevrolet. When Chevrolet introduced the 1957 Chevrolet, it stopped traffic-the car hit the styling nail on the head with subtle but very noticeable tail fins, a full-width front grille with an integrated bumper complete with stylish rubber bullets, and depending on the trim level, expanses of brightwork all around. Many likened it to the Cadillac, calling it the baby Cadillac-it could be very fuel efficent or extremely performance oriented, depending on the engine and all things told; the 1957 Chevrolet was America's dream car. Customizers and Rodders alike have long used the 57 Chevrolet as the foundation for projects, and this one is no different except for the level of quality bestowed upon it. This Tri-Five Resto Mod is a great example of one of America's dream cars with a personal flair.
