The collection belonging to Donald and Daniel Meske has been years in the making.

This quality collection of mounted animals was started in the 1980s with Mr. Meske and his wife taking numerous trips to Africa, as well as trips to Canada, Alaska and other states in the U.S.A. The taxidermy was done by Richard Laros, Dave Sorber, Dave Keller and Len Murphy of Pine Ridge Taxidermy.

Donald Meske was a long time member of the Safari Club International Lehigh Valley Chapter and was the president of SCI from 2001-2003. Mr. Meske has supported the SCI for many years and attended many of their fund raisers. 

In addition to the many beautiful mounts the auction features The John Bollinger’s Perfect Pair, Special Safari International Club Matching Pair of Rifles made by Mountain Riflery, Polltaker Idaho, 450 caliber Ackley and the other a 375 caliber H & H, both with heavily engraved designs, purchased at a SCI fundraiser in Las Vegas in 1997.

99a John Bolliger’s Perfect Pair, “The Guns of SCI-XXV
Pair of Bolt Action rifles crafted by John Bolliger’s
Mountain Riflery of Pocatello, Idaho, define “functional
art” at it’s best. Highly embellished and magnificently
executed, the rifles are serviceable not just functional
hunting rifles. Created around the African Big Five
theme. Perfectly matched, bolt action hunting rifles,
each on a pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 action, with
Ted Blackburn drop magazine bottom metal, with match
-grade Krieger barrels, with J. Bolliger’s American
Classic stock styling, detachable scope mounts. Yet not
exactly alike. One is chambered to that ageless, all
around safari cartridge, the .375 H&H. The scope for
this rifle is a Swarovski 3-9X variable. The second
rifle is chambered to .450 Ackley and comes with a
1.5-4.5X Swarovski variable scope. The .450 Ackley is
one of the many creations of the Parker Ackley. Both
rifles feature the Big Five. The rifles are cased in
custom fine wood cabinetry created by Tom Julian & Sons.
Along with accessories: oil bottles, cleaning rods,
Wyoming knife maker Dennis Friedly has created a pair of
special knives in 2 sizes, each fully engraved with The
Big Five. (9 incomparable custom fireamrs have been
created for the auctions of Safari Club International’s
Silver Anniversary Convention), this item sells with a
reserve.
