Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the US, and brain tumors are the leading cause of death from childhood cancers. Due to focused efforts, survival rates for other forms of pediatric cancer, like leukemia, have been climbing, but not for pediatric brain cancer. But now there is hope! Due to advancements in neurosurgical techniques and acquisition of tumor tissue for research, and through funding from foundations like ours, there are numerous clinical trials taking place at major medical centers across the US and in other countries that are finally showing promise.
