This is an interesting and diverse auction filled with 210+ lots of antiques and collectibles spanning from the mid 1800’s to the late 1900’s. Over 90% of the items are from the collection of Mary Ann and the late Don Comer. Mr. Comer was the Founder and long-time manager of the Annual Bardstown, KY Antique Show. Included are 30+ rifles, handguns, shotguns, percussions, by Colt, Winchester, S&W, Walther, Mauser, Ruger, Browning, LeMat, Remington and a Daisy double-barrel air rifle; collectibles from the Civil War, WWI and WWII eras including weaponry, bullet molds, artifacts, currency, posters, history and training books; other items include Victorian MOP and gold tone cane/umbrella handles, a wicker baby carriage and walking sticks; sterling flatware and serving pieces including Kirk and Sons Repousse; Bruce Fox copper and aluminum art; vintage bronze game plaques on wood; Fountain pens including Monte Blanc, Parker and others; 3 vintage fly fishing rods by Abercombie & Fitch, Orvis and Cortland; WWI and WWII era currency; books on collecting, The Mudd Family, Nash Buckingham, and military tactics, and Kentucky history; a large framed collage of outlaw Frank James and his ties to Kentucky; a handmade wooden frame that is reported to have been made in the late 1800’s from woods of the USS Monitor and USS Merrimack. |
