2) Lauffer Burglar Alarm Guns. Patented 1878, invented by Simon D Lauffer, Irwin Station PA., 3 ½” 22 cal blank window model with mounting plate, and 4 ½” door model..22 blank cartridge. Device is mounted on a door frame, and when the door opens, the hammer fires the device and prevents the door from opening further. With high relief fancy scroll design, marked Patented Feb 5, 1878. 4 1/2" length overall.
