The Boat: 1985 Montego 20 Pocket Cruiser was designed to fulfill every sailor’s fantasy of exploring coves and inlets, in a pocket size cruiser.  Great care has been taken to make the Montego 20 an easysailing boat in every way.  The roomy 7’ cockpit seats four persons comfortably, and with the addition of cockpit cushions you can stretch out for an afternoon of lazy tanning or sleep under the stars at night. The spacious interior boasts a galley, including sink with pump and fresh water tank and port/starboard storage compartments with solid teak doors.  The ice box serves as the cabin step and has a teak and holly cover.  Accommodations include 6’4” berths with 4” deluxe fabric cushions and sitting headroom for those under 6’4”.  Performance is the key to any Helsen design and the Montego 20, with its 2’ deep keel, is no exception.  It’s the keel shape and size which separates the Montego 20 from other shoal draft competitors.  She is easily trailered behind most cars, making those secluded coves and inlets even more accessible.
