1.   Allen Pepperbox Gun

Allen's Patent-Worcestor (1830-65).  Compared to example in Book  
(Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms), this gun has more and  
better engraving ;  good grip and spur from rear of trigger; engraved  
nipple shield.  Date is 1837.  This pistol was popular in the 1849  
gold rush, Seminole Wars of Florida, and the Mexican and Civil Wars.
 
2.  Starr Arms Pistol

Frame Markings:  Starr Arms Co, New York.  Other side says: Starr's  
Patent, Jan. 15, 1856.  No. 28320 on cylinder.  This appears to be an  
1863 Army revolver bought by the U.S. government in the Civil War  
period.  Single action brings higher price on the collector's  
market.  This was the major model revolving handgun bought by the  
U..S. government in the Civil War Period.
 
3.  Flintlock Pistol

Large Belgian military pattern percussion pistol 68 cal--8" round  
barrel very good condition.  Pepper speckled gray metal, strong ELG  
proof on barrel.  ELG within an oval and another symbol on the firing  
pin.  The stock is cracked on the left side at the rear lock plate  
screw and finish is damaged.
Matchlock developed c. 1520-70.  Primitive flintlock 1600.

4.   Colt Model 1849 pocket revolver.  Patents run from  
12,000-340,000.  Standard was Colts/Patent stamping on left side of  
frame.  Standard was stagecoach design on the cylinder.  23 years of  
production.  4"-6" barrels with attached loading levers and steel  
grip straps.  5-shot cylinders were the
most common;  6-shot worth a premium.  Premium paid for those used by  
U.S. Navy.  marked USN at top of brass back strap or UDC on the  
underside of butt, or PGG on the outside wall of the cylinder.
The serial No. of my gun is:  205051.  This serial number should have  
address on the gun barrel:  COL SAM COLT  NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA.
