  Professional members of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association will meet January 25-28 for the 60th Michigan State Auctioneers Association Annual Convention.

 Experts will compete with their marketing designs and test their talent in the Michigan Auctioneer Championships and Ringman Championships!


Speakers to include:  Ralph Wade, Ryan George, J.J. Dower, David Helmer, CAI, Kenny Lindsay, CAI and many other unique and innovative speakers.

        Kenny Lindsay, CAI is a nationally recognized expert in the field of vintage sports memorabilia and autograph authentications. 

 

        Over the course of two decades, Lindsay has exhibited at over 300 sports memorabilia conventions throughout the United States and Canada.  In addition, Lindsay excelled as a convention promoter who hosted numerous sports memorabilia events and negotiated numerous professional athlete public and private appearances including Hall of Fame status personalities.


        Lindsay has been retained as an expert witness, authored numerous articles and interviewed by the media including a nationally syndicated television program.  In 1996, Lindsay received national recognition by identifying that the so-called autographed books distributed by First Lady, Hillary Clinton during her 10-city book tour were not actually autographed by the First Lady herself. In 1998, Lindsay was publically applauded by spearheading the largest sports autograph forgery ring bust in Michigan history. 

        As a professional auctioneer, Lindsay has won numerous awards including: 2005 Recipient of the MSAA ‘Auction of the Year’ and has earned his CAI designation from the Certified Auctioneers Institute and has completed the Benefit Auction Specialist program.

         David G. Helmer CAI, CES, GPPA is the President of Braun and Helmer auction Service Inc. based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Braun and Helmer is a full service auction company since 1971 specializing in estates, antiques and collectibles, and real estate.


David conducts approximately 100 auctions a year. Helmer is also the owner of The Super Auction and is one of the creators of TheAuctionerChannel.com.  He works with many nonprofit groups like the Detroit Tiger, Detroit Lions, and Motts Children’s Hospital.

    Helmer is Michigan State Auctioneers Association past president, 2006 state champion auctioneer, and 2008 Ring man champion.  He has competed in the IAC several times and is also a Trustee of National Auctioneer’s Foundation.  David graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Major in Communication and a Minor in Marketing.  Helmer is also a 1996 graduate of Missouri Auction School.
