Our Spring ROSE Brunch is World Encounter's largest fundraiser and is vital to achieving our vision of a world in which empowered women elevate communities and eliminate poverty. Motivated by the belief that lasting change comes from one-on-one relationships, we bring 10 women into a peer-lending circle that meets monthly. The lending circles foster accountability and professional development, creating a ripple effect of generosity that extends to families and villages. Almost 3.5 billion people around the globe live on less than $2.00 a day. Forty-eight percent of the world's population live without basic sanitation. More than 2-billion people lack access to safe drinking water, are hungry or malnourished. Because World Encounter believes poverty exists largely as a consequence of broken relationships, we serve the working poor in the developing world through holistic community development. The goal is to see individuals and the communities they live in transformed in all aspects of their lives and relationships. World Encounter microloans plus training provide the tools to enable the poor to work their way out of poverty with dignity.
