173 1939 GOLDEN GATE EXPOSITION BROOM FORM LEAD PENCIL WITH BOX-Souvenir Pencil From the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition & “Gift from BLINDCRAFT rattan cottage roofed with brooms” of San Francisco, California. It measures an overall 9” long. The condition of the lead pencil is excellent, crisp and clean while the box is in very good condition excepting some brown toning to the cardboard. The ends of the box are open. It is our belief that the pencil / broom was intended to slide in and out without the presence of tabs or flaps. The broom reads as follows: BLINDCRAFT (flanked by palm trees) / Reg. U.S. Pat. Office REED & RATTAN Furniture Corn Brooms / 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition / 1097 Howard St. San Francisco Hemlock 4380 ( a four digit phone number ~ cool! ) Perhaps one could sweep out the doll house with this broom. Rare thing ~ we believe ~ go find another! Est.20-40 |

The tin box has losses to paint and rust here and there. The Faber box has scuffs and losses here and there and the interior is in similarly used and warn condition. The MOP pen holder has come detached from its original card, which is a miracle that it is yet extant. The Gentlemen’s set is very clean though the exterior of the box has some scuffs, scratches and some buckling of the faux leather surface. Again, all obvious and apparent in the images. Est.20-40 |
