This auction includes project cars, automotive repair and refinishing equipment, tools, signs, and parts inventory from the Model A Garage and the estate of John Phillips. For over 20 years Mr. Phillips operated the Model A Garage in Luray VA with customers bringing their cars from all over the country for his expert touch and high quality restorations. Since his passing in early 2024 the shop has been closed and now we are offering the equipment and parts at public auction. In addition to the shop items we will also be selling some household items which will be added to the catalog by the middle of January.

John had a full service shop with equipment necessary to fabricate and/or refinish pretty much any part.  We have a Plasma Cam Plasma Cutting Table, Welder, Lathes, Milling Machines, Drills, Powder Coating and Paint Booths and Ovens, Woodworking Shop Equipment, Large Parts Washer, Rotary Screw Air Compressor, Air Dryers, 4 Post Rotary Automotive Lift, Shop Crane Hoists, Upholstery Sewing Machine, Sand Blasting Equipment, Caterpillar Skid Loader, And More.

In addition there is a large parts inventory of new and used Model A parts including engine parts, transmission parts, hardware, wiring, wheels, tires, and body panels.  We also have signs, literature, and other miscellaneous shop items. If you have a Model A or if you work on Model A's then you will want to take advantage of this opportunity.  We are shipping smaller parts that fit in a box and aren't too heavy. There is a not in the item description for all the items that we will not ship.

We have tried to describe what we know about items but since John isn't here anymore, there are a lot of things we don't know. Please read descriptions and then come out to the shop on preview day to satisfy yourself as to the condition of any items you are interested in. We will have a telehandler onsite to assist with loading, but some items may require additional equipment that the buyer will be responsible for procuring.  All items are being sold as-is where-is and the buyer is responsible for removal and transport. The large shop equipment will need to be removed on February 3-6. There is not room for equipment to operate in the shop until the smaller items are removed on January 30-Feb 1.

Preview and Pickup Information:

This is an online only auction which will begin to close on January 29 at 7:00 PM at the rate of 4 lots per minute with a 1 minute auto extend. That means if a bid is placed within the last minute for any lot the time for that lot will be extended for one more minute.

Preview for this auction will be Wednesday January 29 from 10 AM to 5 PM or at other times by appointment. Please satisfy yourself as to the condition of each item before placing your bids.

Shipping: We offer shipping on smaller items. Items that we will not ship are noted in item descriptions. Shipping will be billed separately through our shipping company called Shipping Saint.

Pickup time is Thursday and Friday January 30-31 from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday February 1 from 9 AM to Noon except for large items which are noted in the item description that must be removed only on February 3-6.  All items must be paid for before they leave the property. A 5,000 lb capacity telehandler will be onsite to assist with loading on pickup days only. Terms of the Sale:

Buyers Premium and Sales Tax: The Buyer's Premium of 10% will be added to each successful bid. Virginia Sales Tax of 5.3% will be charged on all items unless the buyer provides a valid sales tax exemption form. Sales tax exemption must be claimed and form presented before payment is made.

Merchandise: All Items Are Sold AS IS, WHERE IS, WITHOUT GUARANTEE. We urge you to examine all items carefully and satisfy yourself as to the condition and bid accordingly. We will not be accepting returns or providing refunds.

Payment: Cash, Credit or Debit Card (3% Fee Applies), Wire Transfer, and Good Check are approved methods of payment. This online only auction will require bidders to enter a valid credit card in order to register to bid. When registering to bid, the credit card will be checked for available credit of $100 but the card will not be charged. At the end of the auction all successful bidders will receive an invoice via email and payment can be made online. If payment arrangements are not made by the end of the pickup period then the credit card used for authorization purposes at the time of registration will be charged. All payments whether cash, check, or card must be made before any items are removed from the property.
