Auction is open for pre-bidding at alderferauction.com until Thursday, November 7th at 10:00 AM, at which time pre-bidding will cease and the auction will go live at the auction center (no live audience, just our auctioneer and auction staff).

Among the T206 highlights are cards featuring Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson. The auction includes multiple Cobb cards, showcasing different poses of the legendary player. A particularly notable item is a T206 Sweet Caporal Cobb card with the "bat on shoulder" variation.

The collection also boasts cards of other baseball icons like Honus Wagner, Nap Lajoie, and Addie Joss. Rare variations and less common backs, such as Polar Bear and Old Mill, add to the desirability of this assemblage.

Moving into the mid-20th century, the auction features complete and partial sets from the 1940s through the 1970s. A complete 1948 Bowman set, including rookie cards of Stan Musial and Yogi Berra, stands out as a significant offering. Partial sets from brands like Topps in the 1950s and 1960s contain cards of legends such as Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, and Roberto Clemente.

For fans of more recent eras, the auction includes cards from the 1970s and 1980s. Notable items are rookie cards of Hall of Famers like Mike Schmidt, George Brett, and Cal Ripken Jr. A 1979 Topps Wayne Gretzky rookie card, often called "The Great One," represents a crossover into hockey collecting.

The auction also features a selection of football cards, including early Topps issues from the 1960s and 1970s. Stars like Johnny Unitas, Dick Butkus, and Joe Namath are represented in these sets.

Rounding out the collection are some unique items like Exhibit cards from the 1940s and 1950s, featuring both baseball and football players. These larger format cards offer a different perspective on the sports stars of the era.

This comprehensive collection provides an opportunity for collectors to acquire cards spanning multiple eras of baseball history, from the dead-ball era to the modern game.
