BEAUTIFUL, RUNNING, OPERATING 1958 Chris Craft Sportsman 17 foot boat. This is a ONE OWNER boat that has been in the same family since purchased new in 1958! A TRUE SURVIVOR!! It has spent its entire life in the Atlanta, Georgia area. THIS BOAT HAS NEVER BEEN IN SALT WATER!! It has been used in the same fresh water lake since new. If you have been looking for a vintage Chris Craft runabout, then you know how difficult it is to find one in this condition, ESPECIALLY with a verifiable pedigree as well.

Included with the boat is the ORIGINAL DEALER TRAILER FROM 1958!! Also included are the numbered dealer notice from Chris Craft Corporation (number 325), and a canopy top with side panels and cover. (Can be seen on the boat in the pictures where it is in its slip.) The windshield is new (glass), but the original acrylic shield is available.

The boat has been maintained by the same mechanic for a number of years. He also happens to be a Chris Craft restoration specialist and is an expert on these craft. Below are his most recent notes on this particular boat:

* As of Sept 2023, the boat was stored on a boat lift in a covered boat dock; this boat was lowered and exposed to water for required swelling regularly – this is required to ensure boat is water-ready for safe lake cruising.

* As of June 2024, the boat has been dry stored, this means it will require the proper swelling processes to be re-established before dropping into the water (30 to 45 days of gradual exposure to water until fully submersed off of the boat lift with village pump running continually with a charger to battery to keep power).

* In addition, the engine was winterized, so this will need to be reversed, and the engine and battery checked, tuned, and charged accordingly. The battery is good. The village pump works great.

The boat has undergone 2 major restorations (In the early 90's and again in the 2000's) and has been regularly maintained every season. Both restorations were completed by certified technicians for mechanics and certified restoration specialist for structural improvements. The engine and transmission are in proper working order as are the steering and shifting systems. The rudder and prop are both in excellent condition.

All items are sold AS IS, WHERE IS, and GovDeals encourages bidders to physically inspect before placing a bid.
