The unit was obtained to upgrade small back-up generator to provide back-up power to our full facility. The Board has opted to install a natural gas unit and not use this Diesel unit. The unit was manufactured in September of 2012 for the US Government and was never used. We contracted with Power Systems & Controls to have a technician come out and test the functionality of the system in 2023. Up to the point of testing in June of 2023 the unit had never even had diesel fuel in the tank and approximately 100 gallons was put in for the testing. Upon fire up it was discovered that one engine had eight hours of run time and the other one approximately twelve hours.

The unit is designed to provide 65KW of power and is equipped with 2 - Caterpillar D80-6 diesel motors/generators. The system is designed to provide constant power and will switch automatically between the two CAT D80's. The unit had new batteries installed in March 2023 as well as new filters, oil and a filler hose replaced in May of 2023. The report from the technician from Power Systems & Controls will be attached in photos. The systems is in extremely good condition and has never been in service. The fuel tank is internal and the CAT D80s are mounted on top, the tank capacity is approximately 450 gallons and has slightly less than the 100 gallons put in it as it was only run the day of testing for several hours.
