1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS396

The real thing, rough as 10 days in jail… it deserves to live another life, we have restored way worse… Sold new at North State Chevrolet in Greensboro North Carolina. Built in Baltimore, MD, ordered as a El Camino Custom which was required to order the SS 396 package. Unusual color combination Code 10 Classic white, 764 Medium blue bench seat, Black stripes. A correct casting number 3969854 dressed out 402 engine conveys with the car. This is a low rise intake 325 HP engine. Its Turbo 400 transmission is believed to be currently in the car, bolted behind the 305 engine that’s inside its fender wells now. Correct SS firewall, correct upper rear trailing arm, correct SS dash, correct SS components. Clear NC “E” title car (5 local to Thomasville NC owners), 4 period correct SS396 wheels will convey with this car. It does have heavy frame rot under the battery tray area. It is repairable and isolated to this one area. Passenger door needs replaced, driver door can be saved, all front clip sheet metal is poor and needs replaced with aftermarket or NOS sheetmetal tub is solid, bed needs patches installed, lower quarters need replaced. We think the build sheet is under the seat. It’s for the restorer to remove.
