Harold Boysen (1937-2017) of Morning Sun, Iowa was a lifelong avid Native American artifact “hunter”. He found his first arrowhead at the young age of 7. His collection is made up of personal finds that were found mostly in Louisa County but some were found in neighboring counties and states in his travels such as Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, Western Illinois and Missouri. He loved to walk the plowed fields of his family farm in search of artifacts. Harold was a local legend and he frequently had people ask him questions about their own personal finds.  There have been numerous articles written about his collection in various Central States Archaeological Journals and he has several pieces featured in Keokuk Axes by Bruce Filbrandt and in Prehistoric Artifacts of Iowa by Jim Roberson. Harold was also a founding member of the Hawkeye State Archaeological Society of Iowa and he loved displaying his collection at various artifact shows.

This amazing collection features over 550 lots to include projectile points, a great selection of axes including several Keokuk axes (featured in Keokuk Axes by Bruce Filbrandt), largest known pestle to have been found in Iowa (featured in Prehistoric Artifacts by Jim Roberson), banner stones, celts, other stone tools, pendants, Mississippian & others pottery. Also selling will be display cases, many reference books and journals.
