Sampling net system, Model: MOCNESS (Multiple Opening Closing Net and Environmental Sensing System). Manufacturer: Biological Environmental Sampling Systems, S/N-CD0000785947, FSC: 20-60, Cond. Code: 4.

 

KEY COMPONENTS & FEATURES:

 

¼ MOC top frame; 1 set underwater cables; Bottom I-beam; 4 net bar sliders; 10 net bars and rods; 1 net response; 1 modem box; 1 net bar trap; 1 Seabird sensor 3S (6800m) Part #90221.1; 1 Seabird sensor 4M (6800m) Part #9008.3; 18 trigger snaps and rings; 2 net bar stops; 1 flow meter.

 

ANY KNOWN DEFECTS/ ABNORMALITIES:

 

Per the department that used this equipment: "Nets are missing. Most recently used for teaching day cruises about five times between 2005 and 2013. Has not been used since 2013, so its current functioning is unknown. On the main frame, one plate has a piece of tape on it that says 'This plate might be backwards.' Cylindrical device on main frame has a piece of tape that says 'bad pressure sensor.'" 

 APPROXIMATE WEIGHT & DIMENSIONS:

Qty 4 wooden crates and qty 1 large plastic tote. Large crates are ~50 x 50 x 50" (255 lbs), 12 x 12 x 36" (78 lbs), 4 x 12 x 60" (45 lbs), and 12 x 12 x 30" (75 lbs). Tote weighs ~20 lbs. Combined estimated weight: 473 lbs.
