Over thirty years ago, Department 56 began as part of Bachman's, a premiere retail florist in Minneapolis. Bachman used a numbering system to identify each of its departments. The number assigned to the wholesale gift imports division was, you guessed it, 56, and a new collectible was born! Department 56 Christmas houses easily can run $100.00-$200.00 each with some that are limited production runs that can reach $200.00+. Bodnar’s will be selling over 200 boxed pieces in small lots all starting at $10.00 per lot!

In 1862, Daniel Swarovski was born in Bohemia to a family that owned a crystal-cutting company. Now part of the Czech Republic, the Bohemia region has a rich history of crystal craftsmanship. In 1883, Daniel formed a jewelry company and supplied jewelry for Queen Victoria, Thus Swarovski was born. Bodnar’s will be selling a collection of over 75 pieces of this famous and beautiful crystal figurines including many oversized collector pieces. Been to the mall lately? These pieces can easily run in the $400.00 range at the store and currently, most bids as of today are at $15.00-$20.00 each! This collection is mostly new in the box so if you collect check it out!

Santa and Christmas will be represented in many forms! A lifesize seated Santa with children will make your Christmas display the talk of the town! Joe Bodnar’s pick of the sale is a collection of carousel horse figurines from the famed Seaside Park, NJ carousel on the boardwalk, the 100+-year-old Floyd L. Moreland Historic Dentzel/Looff Carousel. These replicas capture Bodnar’s childhood memory of riding those horses as a kid. There is a small collection of these limited-run horses that were sold on the boardwalk.
