For example: You place a bid on an auction item which has a current high bid of $1,000 by entering the maximum amount you're willing to pay for the item (New Max Bid = $2,000). Your account will place a bid of $1,200 on your behalf ($1,000 current winning bid + $200 minimum bid increment). If someone else bids $1,400. Your account will automatically bid $1,600 on your behalf. Your account will continue to bid for you (using the minimum bid increments) until you reach your 'New Max Bid = $2,000'. If the current winning bid is more than your 'Max Bid', your account will not bid again for you (i.e. If someone else bids $2,200). You can change your New Max Bid until the auction closes. Shayla Bee serves a 10 county area in Northwest Iowa - Osceola, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, O'Brien, Clay, Palo Alto, Cherokee, Buena Vista and Pocahontas - providing financial aid with an initial donation as well as emotional support. For families with more ongoing medical need, they can provide additional financial aid under the "Greatest Needs Program." In the most tragic circumstances, Shayla Bee provides assistance with funeral related expenses. Since April of 2007, 227 Shayla Bee families have been served; 24 of those are Shayla Bee Angels. The revenue needed to help these families comes from event based fundraising and voluntary donations.
