1) Bidding requirements: Bidders must provide Happy Jay Auctions with full legal name, address, phone number and a driver's license. Online auction bidders must provide a valid credit card in order to bid. 2) Buyer's premium and taxes: A 15% buyer's premium is added to all purchased lots. Local and state sales tax will be charged when required. There is sales tax on the buyer's premium. The current rate in North St. Paul, MN is 7.375%. Tax exempt individuals and organizations must fill out the required forms. Vehicles: An excise tax of $20 will be charged to the buyer. It is the buyer's responsibility to pay sales tax at the time of title transfer. 3) All lots sold AS IS, WHERE IS. ALL SALES FINAL: Happy Jay Auctions is not responsible for the accurate description, authenticity, condition, genuineness or any defects whatsoever of items sold at auction. We will not give refunds or discounts for any inaccurately described, erroneously catalogued, defective or damaged items. Bidders should determine an item's description primarily by viewing in person and secondarily by viewing catalog photos. The written description is our opinion and absolutely no guarantee of what an item is. By placing a bid, bidder signifies that they have examined the items to their satisfaction, or that they have chosen not to personally examine them. 4) Happy Jay Auctions reserves the right to remove any item from sale for any reason before items are sold. Happy Jay Auctions reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or pause any sale of any or all items in the event of catastrophe, mass outage or other instance which prohibits the auction to function as intended. Example: a regional weather emergency, auction software failure or power grid failure the day of the auction. A rainy day or community ISP failure would not qualify as a mass outage or catastrophe. Be sure to bid early! 5) Payment: Happy Jay Auctions accepts cash and all major credit cards. Checks are accepted with valid driver's license. We reserve the right to hold merchandise until check clears. Payments will be made at the time of pickup during scheduled pickup times. Happy Jay Auctions will charge the credit card provided during registration on all invoices that are NOT paid during scheduled pickup times. 6) Pickup: Your invoice must be paid in full before removal of any items. Bring help to load items if you cannot move them yourself. Do not start removing items without approval from our staff. Items must be picked up during scheduled pickup times. Pickups outside scheduled times can be arranged for an additional fee. Please notify us before bidding if you cannot pick up during scheduled pickup times. 7) Shipping: Small, non-breakable items and jewelry can be shipped in house for a nominal fee. Please consider shipping costs for larger items. In addition to shipping and insurance, we charge $30/hr for packaging items, with a minimum charge of $10. Items are generally shipped two weeks after the auction closing. Items too large for USPS shipping must be picked up, packed and shipped by a 3rd party. Please make arrangements before bidding. All shipments must be fully insured. 8) Storage: Items not picked up or arranged for shipping will be forfeited and become the property of Happy Jay Auctions after 10 days. Please communicate with us if you cannot pick up during scheduled times.
