BEAUTIFUL METAL SCULPTURE OF SIR FRANCIS DRAKE This sculpture, with its long, lean lines celebrates the 16th century English explorer’s global circumnavigation and purported ship landing in Marin County, north of San Francisco.

DETAILS The sculpture is approximately 30-feet tall and weighs approximately 5,000 pounds. The sculpture is made of steel that is welded and/or pieced together with fasteners. When originally installed, the sculpture was bolted to a concrete foundation.

CURRENT CONDITION At the time of removal, the sculpture's feet and swords were cut to allow access to interior supports. The cuts are clean and readily repairable by a qualified welder and does not affect the overall aesthetics of the sculpture.
