2012 Yellow Miniature 24 gauge train manufactured by Severn Lam in 2012 and used at the Zoo from 2013 - 2018. The train has an engine, tender, and three coaches. The train is themed on a North American steam outline design to run on 610 mm (2 ft.) gauge track. At the time of last operation, the train was running optimally and has had basic maintenance subsequent to the last operation and has no known issues with its operation. The power unit is a Kubota KV3600T diesel engine driving a hydraulic pump. Power is transmitted to eight wheels on four axles by two hydraulic motors through duplex and simplex chains and sprockets. Full independent chair tensioning and adjustment is provided.
The train is fitted with a suitable air compressor for the supply of air for continuous fail safe braking and a spring on air off parking brake fitted to the tender bogies. Electric starting is provided with heavy-duty battery and charging via a heavy-duty alternator.
One coach on the train is wheelchair accessible. The rear seat in the train coach is equipped with a microphone connected to the trains sound system and a emergency stop button. The train has been operated with an engineer (driver in front) and conductor (rear seat) during operations.
