1886 Seated Liberty Dime

40.

54.

Well, I chucked that twig, log or stick,  with all my force and I think I aimed too high, because the cattails went flying and I heard a thump, then I heard a crying and I knew I made a hit.  You were only allowed to cry, if you had blood showing, or broken bones or couldnt see out of one eye or were hopping around like a gangbanger holding your private parts
1944 Washington Quarter

65.
Private parts were fair game as long as you didnt intentionally try to maim them.

Listing Terms and Conditions
See website for this auction's specific terms, pickup, viewing and payment instructions. Thank you.

Featuring a rare Buffalo Gun from 1886, it can transition from black powder to center fire bullets and it is also the first black powder repeating rifle model. We also have a few more rare pieces like this 1996 American Silver Eagle whose date had the lowest production level at only 3.6 million. As always we have a few wacky lots to keep you interested and great commentary take a trip down memory lane.

1.
Starting #58 with a 1925-D Lincoln Wheat Cent
This will be about 8700 coins I have sold through Dobid
I think I have made money on about 12 of them

2.
I am trying to remember where most of this auction came from
Some I bought from a dealer in Western Minnesota
Some from my shop
1909 Lincoln Wheat Cent

True Story
This guy walks into my shop last week and asks me if I remember him?
If you have to ask, then you can figure I dont recognize you
1904 Indian Head Cent

19.
Of course I had to really study and think of who it was
I looked at him once, then twice, I still did not have a clue
1905 Indian Cent

20.
1907 Indian Head Cent

21.
1909 Indian Head Cent, tougher date

22.
Doesnt help that was Postmaster in 6 different towns, but that didnt make sense, so I started thinking about the old Ericsburg days.
North of Ray, north of orr, OK, north of Cook for you truly lost souls
1884 Liberty Nickel

23.
He was really enjoying himself, making me squirm and trying to figure out if I beat up his sister or stole some money from him.
1888 Liberty Nickel

25.
Then a customer came in, so I had a small reprieve while I pondered if I  should stay or maybe bolt or the back door.

27.
Must be scraping the bucket when I start listed some of these coins
1918 Buffalo Nickel

28.
Finally after the customer leaves (typical, didnt spend a thin dime, used my toilette, stunk it up like my aunts breath after a poker game, and stole 2 pens from my jar)
1919 Buffalo Nickel

29.
Lots of great details on this one

He starts smiling and says, "I will give you a clue", he sure was enjoying holding the trump cards
Like that poker game back in 1964, but then I knew my uncle lied, he really did have a Salamander go fish card.

38.
1886 Seated Liberty Dime

39.
If I had a bigger collection, I wouldnt have to list the same dated coin three times.  I would have lotted them as one lot and let one of you whoop me up on the price.
1886 Seated Liberty Dime

40.
1890 Seated Liberty Dime

41.
Ah yes, it all came back into focus.  Of course I remembered him, I hope he still wasnt sore at me, cuz we told our parents it was an accident for sure, for sure
1890 Seated Liberty Dime

42.
1891 Seated Liberty Dime
It was way back in the spring of maybe 69 and being boys and such and it being spring and such, we had to go on one of our Ericsburg adventures

43.
1910 Barber Dime

44.
1920-S Mercury Dime

45.
Uncirculated 1940 Mercury Dime

46.
Spring being the time that boys are even more stupid than normal and someone is bound to get hurt, so we head over to the old train depot to maybe smash out what little windows were left, or crawl under the old building looking for whatever treasure boys are looking for in abandoned buildings

1959 Roosevelt Silver Dime

47.
Tougher date
1897-O Barber Quarter

48.
Tougher date, tougher condition
Does that make this tougher tougher?
1897-O Barber Quarter

49.
1898-O Barber Quarter
So we got alongside an old ditch and started throwing sticks at cattails, trying to chop their heads off, it was about 20 feet and of course, we had to get a different side

50.
1909 Barber Quarter

51.
1915-S Barber Quarter
Well Scott hit the water by my feet with a stick he threw at the cattails and a devilish idea came to my head, what happened if I could hit a cattail and throw the stick hard enough to hit him as well?
Would that be cool or what?

52.
One of my favorite coin designs
Standing Liberty Quarter 1917 Typpe 1

53.
1917 Type 1 Standing Quarter

54.
First I had to find the perfect stick, one that could traverse the distance and have some ummph so he would know it hit him, and the cattails had to be the right heighth so that it would just fall at his feet, for maximum scare, it had to have maximum heft
1891 Seated Liberty Dime

55.
Lots of nice details left
1917 Standing Liberty Quarter

56.
1920 Standing Liberty Quarter

57.
1928-S Mercury Dime

58.
So I dug in the muck and mud and found a rotted old piece of log, that looked like it could make the distance and make the cattails pay their price and maybe as a bonus clip my friend on the leg or arm and scare him
1901-o Barber Quarter

59.
1920 Standing Liberty Quarter

60.
1929-S Standing Liberty Quarter

61.
1930 Standing Liberty Quarter

62.
Unusual to find 4 nice copies of a hard to find quarter like this, and this one is the nicest of the four
1917 Type 1 Quarter

63.
One of the keys to this quarter series
1932-d Washington Quarter

64.

And Scott was doing some big time crying, so now I had to cross the creek and see if I was cool for a wound or in big time trouble for injuring someone and getting belted again
1953-D Washington Quarter

66.
1959-D Washington Quarter

67.
1964-D Washington Quarter

I knew I was in trouble when I approached him and blood was coming out of his hands and his hands were still on his head.  Ut oh, hope I didnt blind him

1934 Capped Bust Half Dollar

70.
1855-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar

71.
1853 Seated Half Dollars

72.
Luckily it missed his eye and he had this gaping wound right on his temple, that was kind of oozing blood, but fortunately, the goop and mud and gunk from the stick looked like a black bandage.
Maybe the old Indians used mud to pack wounds, seemed like a good idea
1855-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar

74.
1858 Seated Liberty Half Dollar

75.

Now we had to figure a way to get home and back in the house without his mother spotting this gaping wound on the side of his head.  Maybe she would not notice, because the blood was not that bad.
