Listing Terms and Conditions

If there is bidding activity in the last 2 minutes, the end time will be extended 2 minutes until there is no further bidding for 2 minutes. Extending the end time for an item does not change the end time of the following item, so there may be several lots ending simultaneously. You may bid anytime up until the ending time for each item. Click the link above for the auction catalog and to register to bid. TERMS: You will have to register to bid in this auction. The registration process with Hibid is one-time. You will not have to go through the registration process for future auctions. If you do not wish to register with your credit card, please contact our office and we will assist you with options. If you have difficulty with registering or if you are unsure about the process, or if you just want help bidding, call our office and we will be glad to help you with it. Online bidders will pay a buyer's premium of 10%. PAYMENT AND SHIPPING: We accept cash, credit cards, PayPal, and checks. Local buyers can use credit cards, cash, or personal check. Nothing will be removed from the auction site until it is paid for. WE WILL GLADLY SHIP ANY ITEM YOU WANT! We ship in-house with reasonable handling charges. Payment is expected within 48 hours of invoice for shipped items. If you wish to make payment arrangements other than credit card for shipped orders, we ask that you contact Black and Gold Auctions at least 24 hours before the auction. We will be happy to work with you in that way.
Listing Information

This is the "widely spaced 3" variety. Obverse is Good condition, the reverse we would grade VG.

2
1853 Braided Hair half cent, NICE!
An attractive and solid XF half cent. The details on the reverse are even stronger. Nice color and no condition issues--were it not for slight softness in strike, this coin could make claims to AU.

Scarce, early large cent with a pronounced overdate....and it's 200+ years old. Graded AG-3 BN (brown) by NGC.

1949 & 1957 circulated Franklin half dollars
The 1949 has been polished/cleaned.

173
1962 Franklin half dollar, Slabbed
Graded MS-64 on the slab, but by whom? We tend to think this grade is fairly accurate on this coin.

174
2002-S silver Kennedy half, PCGS graded PR69DCAM
A halo of hazing has developed on the obverse of this coin.

175
Scarce 1799 Draped Bust dollar, VG
Not a coin we encounter regularly. Soft strike partially obscures eagles head and star details. Scratches on reverse. Old, old cleaning. It is our opinion this coin is genuine.

176
1876-S Trade dollar, PCI graded VF30
Micro "s" variety. While PCI is not one of the "Big 3" grading services, it has been around awhile. Nonetheless, we urge careful examination of this lot to satisfy yourself as to the grade.

178
1877-S Trade dollar, VF
couple small scratches on reverse.

180
1878-CC Morgan dollar, AU
Well detailed coin.

181
1881-CC Morgan dollar, Fine
Very low mintage, a very desirable dollar.

183
1884-CC Morgan dollar, Unc.
Subdued luster, but full cartwheel. We see no wear.

184
1885-CC Morgan dollar, VF-30
Another coin with extremely low mintage.

185
1888-S Morgan dollar, Unc.
Another very scarce S-mint dollar. We think this coin will grade out MS-62, perhaps a grade higher.

187
1889-S Morgan dollar, AU-55/58
Yet another low mintage S-mint dollar. Just the slightest rub on this coin.

188
1890-O Morgan dollar, VF
Couple small rim dings.

189
1891-O Morgan dollar, XF details
Unnaturally bright--we suspect it has been polished/cleaned.

191
1893-O Morgan dollar, Fine details
Extremely scarce dollar. Has been cleaned in the past.

192
6 circulated Morgan dollars
Well circulated group. Dates as follows: 1879-S (scratches and gouge on reverse); 80-S; 88; 89; 96-O; 1900-O.

193
1893-CC Morgan dollar, VG
Another scarce, low mintage Morgan.

194
Late Addition! 1818 Capped Bust half dollar
A bit out of place among the Morgans, but this coin will hold its own. Our grade on this beauty is XF, with the caveat that, like most circulated coins of this age, it has probably been cleaned at some time in the past.

196
Very Scarce 1895-S Morgan dollar, VG-10
Another very desirable, low mintage Morgan dollar.

197
Very Scarce 1895-O Morgan dollar, VF-30+
Very low mintage and difficult to find. A case could be made for this coin being called XF.

198
4 circulated Morgan dollars
1901-O, Good; 1921 (3), ranging from VF to XF+

199
Scarce 1903-O Morgan dollar, AU-58+
Very difficult to find. This coin is close to being uncirculated. Given the state of affairs at the major grading services these days, if submitted this coin might come back anywhere from AU-58 to MS-62. We graded it tightly, taking strike into cons...

200
1904-O Morgan dollar, AU-58
Another coin that is very close to uncirculated. "O" mint dollars have notoriously weak strikes, but taking that into consideration, we still think this coin is what in the parlance of our times is called a "slider". Careful examination is suggested.

201
1921 Morgan dollar, Choice Unc.
Problem free Morgan, that should grade out at MS-63.

202
8 circulated 1921 & 21-S Morgan dollars
6 are 1921, 2 are 1921-S. Three of the dollars have been heavily cleaned/polished and one of the 21-S dollars has rim damage.

203
1921-S Morgan dollar, Slabbed
Graded by SGS, an off brand grading service. Their grade is MS60, which is clearly too high as there is wear evident even without using a loupe.

204

207
5 circulated 1923 Peace dollars
One has residue (PVC?) on it. One is an AU.

208
4 circulated Peace dollars
1923-D (2), 1825, 1926-D.

210
1922 & 1934 circulated Peace dollars
1934 is low mintage coin and a better Peace dollar date.

211
1935-S Peace dollar, Slabbed
Graded by SGS, an off brand grading service. Their grade is MS-65. Unusual to find a Peace dollar with any kind of decent toning. We urge careful examination to determine for yourself the grade on this coin.

1949 & 1957 circulated Franklin half dollars
The 1949 has been polished/cleaned.

173
1962 Franklin half dollar, Slabbed
Graded MS-64 on the slab, but by whom? We tend to think this grade is fairly accurate on this coin.

174
2002-S silver Kennedy half, PCGS graded PR69DCAM
A halo of hazing has developed on the obverse of this coin.

175
Scarce 1799 Draped Bust dollar, VG
Not a coin we encounter regularly. Soft strike partially obscures eagles head and star details. Scratches on reverse. Old, old cleaning. It is our opinion this coin is genuine.

176
1876-S Trade dollar, PCI graded VF30
Micro "s" variety. While PCI is not one of the "Big 3" grading services, it has been around awhile. Nonetheless, we urge careful examination of this lot to satisfy yourself as to the grade.

178
1877-S Trade dollar, VF
couple small scratches on reverse.

180
1878-CC Morgan dollar, AU
Well detailed coin.

181
1881-CC Morgan dollar, Fine
Very low mintage, a very desirable dollar.

183
1884-CC Morgan dollar, Unc.
Subdued luster, but full cartwheel. We see no wear.

184
1885-CC Morgan dollar, VF-30
Another coin with extremely low mintage.

185
1888-S Morgan dollar, Unc.
Another very scarce S-mint dollar. We think this coin will grade out MS-62, perhaps a grade higher.

187
1889-S Morgan dollar, AU-55/58
Yet another low mintage S-mint dollar. Just the slightest rub on this coin.

188
1890-O Morgan dollar, VF
Couple small rim dings.

189
1891-O Morgan dollar, XF details
Unnaturally bright--we suspect it has been polished/cleaned.

191
1893-O Morgan dollar, Fine details
Extremely scarce dollar. Has been cleaned in the past.

192
6 circulated Morgan dollars
Well circulated group. Dates as follows: 1879-S (scratches and gouge on reverse); 80-S; 88; 89; 96-O; 1900-O.

193
1893-CC Morgan dollar, VG
Another scarce, low mintage Morgan.

194
Late Addition! 1818 Capped Bust half dollar
A bit out of place among the Morgans, but this coin will hold its own. Our grade on this beauty is XF, with the caveat that, like most circulated coins of this age, it has probably been cleaned at some time in the past.

196
Very Scarce 1895-S Morgan dollar, VG-10
Another very desirable, low mintage Morgan dollar.

197
Very Scarce 1895-O Morgan dollar, VF-30+
Very low mintage and difficult to find. A case could be made for this coin being called XF.

198
4 circulated Morgan dollars
1901-O, Good; 1921 (3), ranging from VF to XF+

199
Scarce 1903-O Morgan dollar, AU-58+
Very difficult to find. This coin is close to being uncirculated. Given the state of affairs at the major grading services these days, if submitted this coin might come back anywhere from AU-58 to MS-62. We graded it tightly, taking strike into cons...

200
1904-O Morgan dollar, AU-58
Another coin that is very close to uncirculated. "O" mint dollars have notoriously weak strikes, but taking that into consideration, we still think this coin is what in the parlance of our times is called a "slider". Careful examination is suggested.

201
1921 Morgan dollar, Choice Unc.
Problem free Morgan, that should grade out at MS-63.

202
8 circulated 1921 & 21-S Morgan dollars
6 are 1921, 2 are 1921-S. Three of the dollars have been heavily cleaned/polished and one of the 21-S dollars has rim damage.

203
1921-S Morgan dollar, Slabbed
Graded by SGS, an off brand grading service. Their grade is MS60, which is clearly too high as there is wear evident even without using a loupe.

204

Another scarce, low mintage Morgan.

194
Late Addition! 1818 Capped Bust half dollar
A bit out of place among the Morgans, but this coin will hold its own. Our grade on this beauty is XF, with the caveat that, like most circulated coins of this age, it has probably been cleaned at some time in the past.

196
Very Scarce 1895-S Morgan dollar, VG-10
Another very desirable, low mintage Morgan dollar.

197
Very Scarce 1895-O Morgan dollar, VF-30+

209
