Bradberry Family Foundation / Estate - Art, Antiquities, Antique & Mid-Century Furniture & Collectibles
This unique sale is on behalf of the Bradberry Family Foundation and the Bradberry Personal Estate. The foundation is offering over 30 pieces of original artwork and bronzes designated by the Family to support the Foundation's charitable work. The Personal Estate is offering hundreds of additional items. Available are many original paintings, sculptures, bronzes, Ming & Tang Dynasty pieces, French, Chinese & Early American antiques, collectible books and Danish-Modern furnishings. Items are believed to be time period according to appearance and description unless otherwise noted. Any tags or previous auction markings have been left on items. The items were photographed on location at the family estate.
Mr. Bradberry had a lengthy entrepreneurial career in the oil industry and served on numerous business, university and medical boards. Throughout their 60+ years of marriage, the Bradberrys traveled the world, always adding to their beloved collection of fine furniture, art and antiquities.
Mr. and Mrs. Bradberry were lifelong benefactors of the University of Arkansas and have an endowed chair in their name at the Sam M. Walton College of Business. They established the Bradberry Family Foundation to further their philanthropic endeavors. Through the Bradberry Family Foundation, they commissioned the City of Fayetteville (Arkansas) Peace Fountain, built the Walton Arts Center Amphitheater, and donated artwork to the Fayetteville Public Library, University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS), and Washington Regional Medical Center. The Center for Robotic Neurosurgery at UAMS carries their name. The Bradberry Family Foundation continues to support community causes throughout the US, most recently supporting children and families struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The catalog will be built over the months of July through September and able to be viewed by the first week of October. Online bidding begins October 12th . Bidding will end on October 30, 2020. 1 Antique Native American Woven Basket This basket is uniquely and expertly woven and in good condition. It measures 6" tall, 4" diameter across the bottom and 11" diameter across the opening. Tribal affiliation would be speculative on our part. 2 1800's Repousse Silver Plate Measures 14" in diameter and features a detailed hunting scene, made in India. There is one small hole as seen in the pictures. 3 Six 70's Stendig Chrome & Leather Side Chairs Each measures approximately 21.25"W × 23"D × 31.25"H and are in used condition. Overall good condition with normal wear. 4 Antique Louis XIV Writing Desk Desk features matchbook veneer and ormolu bronze trim. Desk shows wear and was treasured by the owner as his personal desk in his home office area. Also is sun faded in areas and missing minor veneer ships as one would expect for the age and movement... 5 Antique Asian Bronze Inlaid Chimney / Vase Measures 17" tall and is inlaid with enamel or something similar. Bottom is open and measures approx. 7" across, same as the top. At the widest part it measures approx. 12" in diameter. It is a stunning piece of craftsmanship. 6 Eight 70's Stendig Chrome & Leather Side Chairs Each measures approximately 21.25"W × 23"D × 31.25"H and are in used condition. Overall good condition with normal wear. 7 Single Stendig 70's Chrome & Leather Side Chair This one was bent slightly downward upon initial inspection. It was straightened and visibly is acceptable but being offered by itself for this reason. 8 Set of 8- Vamo Sonderborg PV Mid-Century Chairs Designer, Danish-Modern side chairs showing normal wear and use. Two vinyl seats have minor tears as pictured and one of these has some amateur repair on underneath side of seat bottom. Six are in good condition. 9 Modern Art Pottery Center Piece Bowl by Zull Shows a variety of textures and blend both raw and glazed finishes. Measures approximately 20" in width. 10 Dragon Theme Porcelain Dish Andrea by Sadek Decorated in Hong Kong with light gold gilding. Measures 7.5" in diameter. 11 Imperial Imari Japanese Vase It measures 8" tall and is approximately 6" in diameter at the bulb. 12 Gort Bone China Great Dane Figurine Numbered 104-D and measures 12" tall and approximately 9" from tip of nose to back of heel. Signed "SW". 13 Erphila Toucan Bird Pitcher - Czechoslovakia Measures 9.5" tall and has on minor chip on the inside, top rim. 14 Antique Chinese Celadon Vase Elephant Handles Measures 13" tall and 9" across the widest point. 15 Antique Folk Art / German ? Acoustic Guitar This is truly a treasure and shows the love and skill of the maker in every detail. Unfortunately it bears no maker's marks or signatures. The one-piece, spruce top is deeply scalloped and the back is one piece as well; wood unknown. The "F" holes ar... 16 Antique Bronzed Spelter? & Wooden Lamp Lamp is adjustable and the metal mid-section appears to be a bronze finish over spelter, or other alloy for the time. 17 Art Deco D. H. Chiparus Bronze Sculpture Lovely, carefree lady frolicking through the field with her trusty canine friends. There are no known casting marks. It measures approximately 14" tall and 20" long. 18 Large Antique Chinese Wedding Basket Has three sections with detailed, iron hardware. Characters are woven into the lid. It measures 24" tall. 19 Antique Wooden Bed Ladder / Step Stool This is a simple, utilitarian piece that has survived well. It is 24" tall. 20 Antique American Low-Boy Two Drawer Chest From circa 1910 and measures approximately 40" wide. 21 Gorgeous Red Marble-Like Crackled Finish Lamp Rose gold gilding on the hardware in the art deco style. 22 Antique Inlaid Rosewood Document Box Completely trimmed in brass and tight. We are still searching for the key and will update you regarding it. It measures 10" tall. 282 Betty Russell Gates Original Art "Family Wagon" This is an original purchased by the family from the Golden Willow Gallery in Taos, NM, in 1983. It measures 24 x 30 and is acrylic on canvas. 283 C. M. Russell Bronze "Buffalo Rubbing Rock" Features the skull trademark of a Russell bronze, it was acquired in 1983 from a local antique gallery. It measures 7" tall x 7" wide and is in good condition. 284 Mid-Century Oil on Canvas Original "County Fair" Artist is unknown, but piece is signed and illegible. The canvas has been refitted to this frame from the original. It was purchased from a local antique gallery in 1988. Measures 34"W x 19"T. 285 Rodin Bronze Sculpture "Crouching Bather" Purchased from a local gallery in 1998, it is one of three examples by Auguste Rodin in this sale. No foundry marks are visible and pictures reveal minor chip on base edge. It measures approximately 13" x 13". 286 Original Oil on Wood By Bert Geer Phillips This work features an Indian maiden standing in the firelight. Mr. Phillips works are on display in notable galleries throughout the U.S. 287 Russell Bronze Smoking w/ Spirit of the Buffalo Sculpture shows no foundry marks or trademarks. It is a reproduction but makes a nice display piece and measures 8" x 4" approximate. 288 Cadell Original Oil on Canvas "Scottish Children" This is a painting on painting by Florence St. John Cadell, a female Scottish patriot and influencer in her time. Pictures show painting on reverse and it is unknown if this is Cadell's work as well.
