This auction features the work of world renowned photographer Michael Collopy.
These framed and matted prints are from the estate of the car dealer who owned the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA in the early 1990's where Mr. Collopy worked early in his career as a photographer.
The images Mr. Collopy captured are the entertainers who played the Circle Star Theater during that time. These prints are "Theater Prints," provided to the theater by Mr. Collopy. As far as we have researched, there are no other prints of these subjects in circulation. Mr. Collopy retained the copyrights or has an agreement with the entertainer or their estate.
Aside from being prints that are somewhat rare, Mr. Collopy captures the essence of his subjects like no other photographer. Perhaps that is why he has been commissioned to photograph so many influential people across so many walks of life.
