Carol Brubaker was an active force in the St. Simons Island community, serving as Glynn County Commissioner at Large and Chairman of the Board of Health. Mrs. Brubaker was a reporter for The Brunswick News, a real estate agent for Trupp Hodnett, and proprietor of two stores exemplifying her elegant taste, Bagatelle and Dazzle. A consummate hostess, Mrs. Brubaker orchestrated beautiful parties in her wonderful house and breathtaking gardens. Together with her husband, she traveled extensively, visiting most parts of the world and filled their home with fine things picked up on their travels. She had a striking signature sense of style, which can easily be seen in her home that was decorated with fine furniture covered in sumptuous fabrics. Highlights from the auction include an Italian painted secretary, a French provincial armoire, a pair of Charles X 6-light candelabras, a George III pembroke table fitted with tea canisters, a large English Ironstone service, glassware including Baccarat and Waterford as well as much more! Enjoy the auction! -Amanda and Chris Everard |
