Friday, Sept 25th The first of our two-day auction will include the contents of a Large Library, Selection of Clothing Representing Approx. a Century of Fashion. Fine & Costume Jewelry, Sterling Silver Items, Military Uniforms, Pins, Badges & Medals. Barn, Gardening, Outdoor & Decorative Yard Items Will be Offered on Friday.
86 War Posters, both US & British (Friday): Please note that due to the Large Volume of Posters & Excellent Condition, they will be presented to you in groups of eight to twelve just before they are to be sold.
Books and Printed Material (Friday):
The McClure Family has built a Multigenerational Library that spans both time and topics. Allow yourself the privilege of viewing and owning a piece of this Collection.
Individual Pieces & Sets Include: 17th century Dutch volume (Faufti Socini van Siene) BRIEVEN; many Civil War accounts (PA at Chickamauga and Chattanooga); the record of PA volunteers in the Spanish American war; personal history of U.S. Grant; Army Experience of Captain John Donaghy 103rd PA Volunteers along with many other books and personal accounts of the Civil War; Works of Poets & Storytellers: Poe, Twain, Emerson, Irving, Cooper (Pathfinder Edition), Bolwer’s works, Lewis Muhlbach and Harvard Classics. There is also a special offering of a comical account written by a member of the McClure family. Children’s stories, local and state history, novels and political writings, set of late 1800s encyclopedias. Legal publications include Courts & Lawyers (4 volume set-1922); Supreme Court Reporter and Pa Bench and Bar (1903). The books and printed items will be sold individually, in sets and also in box lots.
