ANNOUNCING PHASE TWO OF SONNY WOODY'S & JAMES MELVIN (MIKE) CLARK'S

ESTATE AUCTIONS

SATURDAY APRIL 12th 10:00 AM,

1835   South Pleasants Highway, St. Marys WV.

From the intersection of Route 2  and the Ohio River bridge in St. Marys, continue South on Route 2 for 3/4 miles. Sale is on the Left.

Those that attended our initial sale (March 8th) were both enthused and excited about the collectible glassware being sold. Mike was a true collector in that he gained a genuine appreciation for the Art as well as the function inherent in the huge glass making industry that dominated the Ohio Valley for well over a Century and now, for the most part, no longer exists. We are seeing Viking, Imperial Fostoria, Fenton, Westmorland and others that are rare and don't show up at sales on a regular basis. These pieces continue showing up as fast as we can unpack the boxes. Of unique interest to me is the large volume of "FRANKOMA pottery I am seeing in this sale. The Pottery was founded in 1933 by John Frank, a college professor in Norman Oklahoma. The name reflects his last name and the last three letters of "Oklahoma. The company used varieties of Oklahoma clay with unique glazes and designs. Their products are both artistic and functional. They are now collected Worldwide, and I have seen a rapid increase in prices online over the last 2 years. I think it will eventually compete with "Weller", "McCoy" and other well known art pottery. It sold at our March sale more reasonable than I would have expected, so if you use Antiques & Art to "hedge" against inflation or if you are a Collector/Dealer I would urge you to join us on April 12th and check it out.

I held Sonny Woody's Dining room back for this sale because I wanted everyone to know just what they would be buying. It is a table and 8 "Windsor" chairs. The chairs are signed "Temple Stuart" and are considered by many decorators and interior designers to be the best ever made. All you have to do is to sit on one to be completely in agreement. I don't think you can get one online for under $300.00 and they want $175.00 or more to ship it. Woody's outfit will sell to the highest bidder. I hope we have more than one.

MANY PHOTOS ON auctionzip.com and estatesale.com and will be adding more all the way to sale date.

TERMS OF SALE: Cash, Check with good ID, or major Credit Card.

AUCTIONEERS: R. James Buck WV#271, Lowell Goff Wv#330

Sale is indoors, so come rain or shine. Snacks and toilets available. Everything sold "as is where is". Announcements day of sale take precedence over any other information written or otherwise conveyed. All sales are final. If you cannot haul all of your purchase's day of sale due to weather or cargo space, they can be left at the sale building at your own risk for pick -up by appointment for one week.
