Listing Terms and Conditions
BIDDING INFORMATION Bidding Options: Bidding is available on the HiBid website (sunflowerauction.hibid.com) and through the HiBid mobile app available on Android and Apple. Bidders may also submit written absentee bids directly to Sunflower Auction using the Absentee Bid Form available at sunflowerauction.com Auction Format: This is an online-only timed auction. Each lot in the auction is scheduled to close 30 seconds apart. For example, Lot 1 is scheduled to close at 7:00.00 pm central time, Lot 2 is scheduled to close at 7:00:30, Lot 3 is scheduled to close at 7:01:00 and Lot 4 is scheduled to close at 7:01:30. Using this format, we are able to sell 120 lots per hour. Soft Close: The auction has a "soft close" feature so that if a bid is placed in the final two minutes before a particular lot is scheduled to close, that lots ending time extends for an additional minute. For example, lets say Lot 10 has one minute left before it closes and a bid is placed on it: Lot 10's time will extend to two minutes. If Lot 10 then ticks back down to thirty seconds remaining and another bid is placed, then Lot 10 will extend to one and a half minutes. As long as active bidding is occurring in the final two minute window, the time will keep extending. This does not affect any other lots in the auction, just that particular lot. If no additional bids are placed in the final two minutes, then the lot will close as scheduled. Live Catalog View: The soft close auction format emulates "live auction bidding, and as such, the auction can be viewed in real time similar to a live auction. The best way to watch the auction live is by using the Live Catalog view on HiBid. The Live Catalog view appears 30 minutes before the auction begins. The Live Catalog view automatically removes closed lots from view, so all lots can be viewed in real time as they close from a single screen. This is a great way to watch all the lots close in order and keep track of the lots you are interested in as they close. Maximum Bids: We encourage bidders to place their maximum bids on HiBid at any time before the auction ends. The HiBid system will automatically bid for you up to the next competitive bid, and that number will be shown publicly as the high bid. For example, if your maximum bid is $100 and the next highest bidder's maximum bid is $50, then you will be the high bidder at $55. If additional bids go past your maximum, you will be notified by email that you've been outbid and you can then bid again, if you choose. If two bidders happen to have the same maximum bid, then the bidder who placed the bid first will be considered the high bidder. You can always increase your maximum bid at any time before the auction ends, including when you are watching the auction in the Live Catalog view. Auction Preview: This is an online-only auction with no public preview of the items in the auction. If you require any additional photos or information about a particular lot, please contact us. PAYMENT INFORMATION Invoicing: We will charge your credit card on file with HiBid immediately after the auction ends for the total amount of your winning bids including buyers premium and sales tax (where applicable). If you require in-house shipping, we will charge your credit card separately for the shipping cost once we have it calculated. Please make sure your credit card information and shipping address are up to date with HiBid. Payment Methods: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX. Buyers Premium: An 18% buyer's premium will be applied to all winning bids. No separate credit card fees. Sales Tax: Kansas Sales tax (9.1%) may be collected on shipments within the state of Kansas and on local pickups (please review the terms and conditions for each individual auction). Sales tax will never be collected on shipments outside the state of Kansas. If your shipping address is located in Kansas and you are exempt from Kansas sales tax OR if you plan to pick up your items and you are exempt from Kansas sales tax, please email us a copy of your Sales Tax Exemption Certificate from your state before bidding in the auction, and we will remove the sales tax at checkout. SHIPPING INFORMATION In-House Shipping: We offer in-house shipping on all items in the auction. We have 25 years of packing and shipping experience, and we always treat our customers fairly. We use all new packing materials including biodegradable peanuts. We use shipping services from the USPS and UPS. We have a great low rate negotiated with UPS. We try to keep our shipping costs as low as possible and only charge you the actual cost of shipping, which includes the cost of postage, the actual cost of packing materials and a small handling fee commensurate with the time spent packing. We always combine shipping on multiple items, where appropriate, to save you money. We will ship your items to the address you have on file with HiBid, so please make sure your shipping address is up to date. Handling Time: Our handling time will vary depending on the size of the auction and complexity of the shipping task. Many items will be shipped the next business day after the auction, while large orders may take several days to process. Please be patient with us as properly packing your items is our utmost concern. We expect to be able to ship all auction items within one week of the auction close. Shipping Estimates: Please contact us for a shipping estimate before the auction closes on large or complex items. You can expect to pay something comparable (and probably considerably less) than what a retail pack and ship operation, like the UPS Store, charges for shipping - with much higher quality packing. International Shipping: We offer international shipping on most items in the auction. To qualify for international shipping, several conditions must be met: 1) the item must be small enough to be sent internationally (typically following the USPS Priority Mail International size restrictions for your country), 2) the payment method used must qualify for Seller Protection (for example: if paying with Paypal, then certain shipping restraints, such as signature requirements, may apply) and 3) irrevocable forms of payment such as Bitcoin or USDC can ship worldwide with no restrictions. Please contact us for further details before bidding. Local Pick Up: If you want to pick up your items in person, please let us know when you register for the auction. Our local pick up address is 5804 West 157th Place, Overland Park, KS 66223. Local pick up is free and by appointment only using our online appointment calendar (we will email winning bidders a link to the calendar). When you arrive, please pull up on the curb in front of the house, and we will bring your items out to you. Items must be picked up within one week of the auction close, unless prior arrangements have been made with the auction company.
CONTACT INFORMATION For questions about any of the items in the auction or for assistance with registration, bidding or checkout, please contact: Gregg Pfister, Manager, Sunflower Auction Call/Text: (913) 526-8622 (text preferred) Email: gregg@sunflowerauction.com Email List: Upon registering for this auction, you will automatically be added to our email list. This will allow us to notify you about upcoming auctions. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.
