Instead of paints or watercolors, she uses tiny pieces of the photographs that she and her husband have taken as paint. She combines, blends and transforms her photographic elements and drawings into one image. Usually these images are merged so well that people believe that they are one piece instead of many that have probably been taken undervarious light conditions. Paula sometimes takes these images and embodies them with acrylic texture and luminescent paint to form actual 3-dimensional multi-media art works. Printing on various substrates has intrigued Paula over the years, and one can usually find her work printed on her own hand made paper, some even tinted with tea and coffee.
