Matthew Moss is one of the co-owners of Moss Auction Team, LLC. He graduated from Reppert School of Auctioneering in December of 1998 and is a licensed Auctioneer in both Illinois and Indiana. His auction company specializes in the marketing of both agricultural and residential real estate, agricultural equipment, business liquidations, antiques and collectibles and personal property. He plays a large role in managing their auction staff in preparing, promoting and conducting their auctions held in both Illinois and Indiana.
In March of 2016 he completed a three-year executive development program focused on business management, ethics, strategic planning and marketing at the prestigious Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI). CAI is the industry’s premier training program developed by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) for auction professionals. The three year CAI designation program provides highly motivated and qualified auction professionals the opportunity to earn the industry’s most respected professional designation.
Matthew is an active member in the National Auctioneers Association, as well as the both the Illinois and Indiana State Auctioneers Associations. His company has won many advertising contests in above listed associations from marketing material of former auctions they have conducted.
Matthew graduated from the University of Illinois in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural/Animal Science. He is also involved in the managing aspects of the family farming operation consisting of 3,500 acres of a grain and livestock business that has been in the Moss Family since 1866. On the Moss Farm, Matthew also oversees the family's Clydesdale breeding operation. His family raises and shows quality bred black Clydesdale horses that are exhibited on a national level. Matthew lends a hand with many local fund raising events every year such as the annual 4-H food & livestock auction, his area's YMCA fund raiser auction, the Paris Young Farmers annual auction to raise funds for scholarships for students pursing careers in Agriculture, the Relay for Life American Cancer Society in his county and the annual auction for the local chapter of Pheasants Forever. He is a member of the First Christian Church in Paris, Illinois and he also serves as an elected Trustee for Edgar Township. He is married to Bridget Moss, who is a graduate from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agribusiness/Farm and Financial Management. She is employed by Cargill, Inc. and she also owns and enjoys working with horses. They have two children.
