Doug Dalton had been a full time Auctioneer for over 40 years. He started his auction career after being an independent antique dealer for 10 years (1972). After graduating from the nationally recognized Detroit art college “Center for Creative Studies” with a Bachelors in Fine Art, Doug then graduated from the Missouri Auction School in 1982. Doug has since conducted over 5000 auctions with nearly 1 million items crossing under the auctioneer’s hammer. Besides independently working his own auctions, Doug had worked for the Frank Boos gallery of Bloomfield Hills as an Auctioneer and Appraiser, and participated in the “Antiques Road Show” in Indianapolis Indiana in 2004.
For over 35 years, Doug has also conducted hundreds of charity auctions and raised over 3 million dollars for organizations such as the Detroit Symphony, Detroit Rotary, Ann Arbor Art Association Winefest (30 Years), ALS of Michigan, Night for Sight, Red Tie Ball (Oakwood Health), Bob-Wow Brunch (Michigan Humane Society) and many others.
Besides auctioneering, Doug is a certified appraiser of Fine Art and Antiques, and is a member of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA) and a member of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association.
Currently Doug is Semi-retired & on occasion, works with select Auctioneers in lower Michigan.
