Bartley Auction is a multi-faceted auction company offering a multitude of services. We try to ease the pressures of marketing a person’s assets, and achieve the most return possible. Having been active in the auction method of marketing since 1977, we feel we have gained the knowledge necessary to produce a successful auction.
We began in 1977 by working for Stewart Auction Service as part of the setup personnel in conducting on site dairy cattle and farm equipment auctions. We continued to work for Stewart Auctions until 1997, when we purchased their auction firm. During the time of employment with Stewart Auctions, we worked as setup, ringman, clerk, relief auctioneer, and lead auctioneer.
In 1988 , Wade became fully licensed as an auctioneer, with the idea of selling real estate at auction. He has been licensed as a real estate sales person since 1982, having worked for a local broker in real estate sales in Sulphur Springs, Tx until 2002. At that time Wade teamed up with another real estate broker, and they work primarily at marketing real estate by the auction method.
After attending Auctioneering school at East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas in 1988, Wade improved on his auctioneering skills, by attending the World Wide Championship School of Auctioneering in Bakersfield, California. In 1990 he started attending the Texas Auctioneer Association conventions held throughout the state and becoming more familiar with state auction laws. Wade has served two terms on the State Board of Directors for the Texas Auctioneers Association, and was First Runner-up for the State Champion Auctioneer in 2005. Other community service activities include serving on the Board of Directors of the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce, Hopkins County Farm Bureau, and Professional Ag-Workers Association. Wade also served as President of the Sulphur Springs Young Farmers Association for two terms, during the time that a very successful annual farm equipment consignment auction was started and continued for 15 years. Wade also served one term as a State Vice-president from Area VI of Young Farmers.
In 1996 Wade attended the Certified Appraiser Guild of America courses on becoming a certified appraiser of personal property. He has been a member of the Guild since that time, conducting appraisals for lending institutions, attorneys, and individuals for estate, divorce, and bankruptcy purposes.
After purchasing Stewart Auction Service in 1997, we purchased a 52 acre tract of land on State Hwy 19, four miles south of I-30, in Sulphur Springs, Tx. This property had been used as a livestock market for many years. There is a fully functional livestock auction facility with covered pens, loading chutes, climate controlled auction ring, office area, and café. There are no livestock auctions being held at this time, but the facility is available for special cattle auctions, horse auctions, and other type of livestock. We have been conducting regular monthly farm equipment consignment auctions at this location since purchasing the property. Our farm equipment auction is held every month, except December, on the last Saturday of the month. In 2006 we built a new 3200 sq ft multi purpose building with the intentions of starting an automobile auction , which will be open to the public. We have been selling autos in our regular monthly consignment , and have decided to create a separate division in our auction program for automobiles. These plans should be accomplished in 2009. We have conducted antique and general merchandise auctions in the new building since its completion.
Auction experience gained by working for other auction companies came from working for Brinkley Auctions in Idabel, OK, Double D Auctions in Waskom, Tx, Kaddatz Auctioneers of Hillsboro, Tx., Croucher Auctioneers of Richmond, Tx., East Texas Auctions of Sulphur Springs, Tx., I-45 Auctions of Rice, Tx., & Texas Auction Group of Wimberly, Tx.
Over the past several years we have conducted many onsite auctions in the North East Texas area. Once a contract is negotiated, we perform all the duties necessary to complete a successful auction. From the promotion of the auction, to the set up prior to auction time, to the clerical work on the day of the auction, load out of merchandise after the auction, payment of sales taxes & liens, and final settlement with owners. We have held auctions offering real estate, livestock, farm equipment, antiques, vehicles, rental equipment, several hardware & lumber yards.
Presently we are conducting our regular monthly farm equipment auctions along with specially scheduled antique auctions for Bright Star Antiques in Sulphur Springs. We also offer our services for benefit purposes helping to raise funds for churches, FFA & 4-H, Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and other charitable organizations in our area.
We welcome the opportunity to visit with you about your auction needs.
