Our History - A family business
Harris Wilcox, Inc. was founded by Harris Wilcox in 1943. Harris was a respected business leader and was extremely active in the business community, as was evidenced by philanthropic interests and his election to and participation on multiple Board of Directors including; Fleet Bank of NY, Kirkhaven Nursing Home, Genesee Memorial Hospital, Byron-Bergen Central School, Roberts Wesleyan College, Liberty Pumps, the Genesee Valley Presbytery, and the National and NYS Auctioneers Associations are only a few of the many organizations that Harris supported. Harris passed away to meet the Lord on July 17th, 2010.
Harris' son, Craig Wilcox, is President and CEO of Harris Wilcox, Inc. Craig has worked full time in the real estate and auction business since 1967. He is a graduate of LEAD New York. Former professional positions include President of New York State Auctioneers Association, Chairman of the Genesee County United Way and Chairman of Genessee Regional Independent Living Center, Inc. and Chairman of the Genesee Region Housing Initiative Committee.
Craig's sons Brett Wilcox and James Wilcox, along with Brett's son Cash Wilcox, round out the auction crew. Brett and Cash are auctioneers and James is the Sales Manager. Brett and Cash also sell five auto auctions weekly and run Bergen Sales Inc., an auto sales business.
Willard Pengelly V.P. and head of real estate department joined Harris Wilcox, Inc. in 1960 and brings a lifetime of agriculture and business experience. Craig's daughter, Penne Vincent, manages the Real Estate auctions with the help of Shelly Falcone. The most recent addition to the family business is Brette-Ashley Wilcox Schmitt, who is focusing on conventional listings.
Harris Wilcox, Inc. would not be a success without the support of our two valued administrative assistances Chris Martz who has been serving this organization for 24 years and Aimee Chapell who has been serving this organization for 12 years.
