Company Information
Columbia Auction is a full service on-line, on-sight, and live auction company located in Columbia City, and Angola, IN. Columbia Auction was started in 1977 by Robert Gibson with live in person auctions at their Columbia City, IN Auction House.
In 1990 his son Matt Gibson took over the business after working with his Father since the creation of the business and continued the Consignment and Estate actions of the business. Matt continued the traditions of his Father and helped customers clear out their estates, foreclosures, and even did appraisals of their items. In 2020, Aaron McDevitt, Grandson of Robert Gibson, joined his Uncle and started buying and re-selling items for customers who wanted new products or did not want to follow the consignment path. Also in 2020 in order to keep up with the ever changing marketplace Matt decided to move the auctions to an on-line basis using Proxibid as the platform of choice for the multiple auctions per week they are now creating.
Today Columbia Auction takes consignments, and/or buys items from the Midwest and sells them across the Nation with shipping now also available. We handle items from collectibles, furniture, household supplies, home décor, clothing, electronics, guns and ammunition and much much more. We currently hold an auction every Tuesday and Thursday with specialty auctions popping up when available so be sure to check out the latest auctions and products where you can click, bid, and buy right on line.
